The Hidden Jewel of the Western Pacific Reefs
The Purple Masked Angelfish (Paracentropyge venusta), also known as the Venustus or Purplemask Angelfish, is a rare and highly coveted dwarf angelfish of the Western Pacific. With its deep indigo‑blue body, vivid golden‑yellow mask and chest, and scattered electric speckling along the flanks, this species brings the dramatic contrast of shadowed reef caves straight into the digital canvas. It naturally inhabits steep outer coral and rocky reef slopes, usually keeping close to overhangs and crevices at moderate depths, where it weaves in and out of the rockwork in search of food.
