The Elegant Batfish
The Pinnate Batfish (Platax pinnatus) is a striking species known for its unique shape and graceful movement. Often called the Dusky Batfish, it features a tall, compressed body that glides through the water like a shadow.
Native to the Indo-Pacific reefs, this species is a peaceful wanderer. While it can grow quite large (up to 40 cm), it remains a shy and gentle fish that requires a spacious and quiet environment to thrive. It feeds on a varied diet of algae and small invertebrates.
This CECOZ Digital Marine Atlas edition combines cinematic 4K marine artwork with accurate scientific information — delivering both a stunning visual experience and a practical educational reference.
