The Striking Master of Transformation
Before developing its iconic yellow mask and blue face, the Blueface Angelfish, also widely known as the Yellowface Angelfish (Pomacanthus xanthometopon, formerly classified as Euxiphipops xanthometopon), begins its life displaying one of the most mesmerizing patterns in the ocean. This Juvenile phase features a dark blue body adorned with striking, curved vertical stripes of white and pale blue—a natural camouflage designed to protect it in the reefs.
As indicated by the scientific symbols, this species is a peaceful community fish that requires a large environment as it will eventually grow up to 45 cm. It is an omnivore, feeding on a varied diet of prepared foods, invertebrates, and plant matter. It thrives in an aquarium with plenty of rockwork for hiding and grazing.
[Exclusive Video Observation Included]
