The Gentle Giant of the Reef
The Humpback Batfish (Platax batavianus), also known as the Zebra Batfish in its juvenile stage, is a majestic species native to the Western Pacific. As it matures, it develops a deep, laterally compressed body with a distinctive "humpback" profile and impressive flowing fins.
Despite its imposing adult size of up to 50 cm, this fish is incredibly peaceful. It is a slow-moving grazer that adds a sense of calm and grandeur to any large marine display. It requires a very spacious tank to accommodate its height and swimming needs.
This CECOZ Digital Marine Atlas edition combines cinematic 4K marine artwork with accurate scientific information — delivering both a stunning visual experience and a practical educational reference.
