Recent integrative taxonomy suggests otherwise: molecular analysis of northeast Atlantic specimens resolved three distinct operational taxonomic units, and Atlantic and Pacific specimens differ in caudal peduncle length, vertebral count and lateral-line scale count. The rosy dory may not be one fish at all.
